The Shell Archive chronicles the fascinating journey behind our turtle-based collection, CryptoPhunksV69, where we explore the lore and references that shaped this unique punk-style project.
The Origin Story
Our inspiration began with the discovery of Ninja Turtle Punks, a rare 2021 August collection of just 6 items featuring the 4 brothers, Shredder, and Splinter. This hidden gem became the foundation for something much larger - we took this base concept and transformed it into a reality, creating a comprehensive punks-style collection that finished what the original artist had started.
Technical Foundation
To ensure authenticity and quality, we drew from established cryptopunk resources:
- Skin Tones: Sourced from CryptoPunks Skin Tone Repository
- Character Data: Utilized original CryptoPunks CSV data for accurate combinations and ordering
- Shell Accuracy: Both shell and skin tones are historically accurate to the turtle brothers, maintaining 2021 authenticity with the original Ninja Turtle Punks aesthetic
Creative Influences
Our collection draws inspiration from multiple punk derivative projects:
